Opening Hours
All members and guests of Waikawa Boating Club and Waikawa Social Club are welcome. Please sign your guests in, in the visitors book at the entrance of the Wardroom.
Tuesday: During the popular Twilight Series, (October – April), the Wardroom and Bar open each Tuesday evening from 7pm. Light meals are also available from 7.30pm. Come along and meet our dynamic racing crew members, and if you are interested, you might even get signed up for the next race.
Thursday: We are open after our Learn to Sail program in Summer (approx February to April).
Friday: The Wardroom and Bar are open every Friday evening (except for Good Friday, when we open on Thursday instead) throughout the year. The Bar opens at 5pm, with ‘Happy Hour’ 5-7pm. Meals are served from 6pm. The winter menu features delicious steak, sticky spareribs, fish and chips and more plus a constantly changing blackboard menu. Raffles are drawn around 7.30pm.
Saturday: We are open one Saturday a month usually with a themed evening, such as Mexican, whisky tasting, or a meal put on by a special chef. Sometimes we are closed for a Private event.
Sunday: The Wardroom and Bar open at 4.30pm when racing is scheduled, (generally every second Sunday in winter).
Christmas Holiday Period: From December 26th through to the New Year Regatta in early January, the Wardroom will be open additional times. A roster of Opening Hours will be posted on the Club Notice Board, website and weekly Briefing. Drinks and meals will be available
Holiday Weekends: The Wardroom and Bar together with the kitchen are open every Friday during the year, (except Good Friday, when the bar opens on Thursday instead). During the mid-summer period the Wardroom hours are extended to meet demand. The Wardroom may be opened early on yacht race days. Members are reminded that bar trading hours within the limits of the Club’s Liquor License, are set by the Executive Committee and periodically reviewed.
Toilets/Showers & Laundry
Members may gain access to the toilets, showers and laundry when the Clubhouse is not normally open, by using an electronic key tag for the main door. Senior members may purchase a key from the Club Manager at a cost of $20. Members are reminded that the showers are provided free to members only. Guests of members must pay $2.00 for the use of the showers. Payment is to be placed in the Suggestion Box located in the entry foyer. Visitors may use the showers on application to the Club Manager and by payment of $2.00 which is to be placed in the Suggestion Box in the entry foyer.
