The truth is that apart from Picton, there are not a lot of facilities in the Marlborough Sounds. No supermarkets, no McDonalds, no Coffee Shops, no fish ‘n chips (other than do it yourself), no doctors, dentist, candlestick makers, and if you are looking for a hairdresser or a beauty parlour then you are stiff out of luck.

Diesel – Elaine Bay and French Pass
Queen Charlotte Sound
Restaurants & Accommodation – Lochmara Lodge, Bay of Many Coves, Punga Cove, Furneaux Lodge, they are seasonal so do check first.
Accomodation only – Mahana Lodge
Diesel – Waikawa and Picton Marinas
Natural beauty and wildlife – just open your eyes; everywhere in abundance!
