September 2025 – POSTPONED
now 12/13 September 2026
The 2026 Event will have a revised format following feedback from the 2024 event.
After much deliberation, the Waikawa Boating Club has taken the difficult decision to postpone the 2025 Women’s Regatta. We appreciate the great popularity of this event and, having listened to your feedback, the Organising Team promise to bring you a new and exciting format for a revamped 2026 regatta.
SAVE THE DATE NOW!
The new regatta format will see two divisions, a “Racing Division” for experienced crews and skippers and “Mermaid Division” for less experienced sailors and skippers looking to grow their skills.
Racing Division
This division is aimed at experienced crews looking to enter an established team for the full-on racing experience, with a mixture of sprint races, cans races and harbour races.
Mermaid Division
This division is aimed at less experienced/novice sailors who want to learn or improve their yachting and racing skills, and experience some fun racing with a variation of mark foy racing. You will be encouraged to rotate crew positions, operating with an experienced skipper (who may be the boat owner) on hand to share their experience and offer mentoring. This division also welcomes anyone that loves to teach sailing to less experienced women.
All competitors will have the chance to attend a breakfast rules tuition session with an experienced race officer.
There will be an on-water Friday afternoon social activity and choice of social events to attend on the Saturday evening after racing.
Your Entry Fee includes the Sailing and Saturday Social Function. The optional Friday afternoon event will incur an extra fee (more details to follow).

We have sadly lost the Sponsorship of Evolution Sails as they redirect their business sponsorship strategy, but we want to acknowledge their great support over the years in moving these Womens Sailing events on around the country.
